Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Budemol is a branded generic fixed-dose combination inhalation suspension developed and manufactured by Legency Remedies. It contains budesonide, a synthetic corticosteroid, and levosalbutamol (levalbuterol), a short-acting beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist (SABA). Budesonide acts as an anti-inflammatory agent by binding to the glucocorticoid receptor, thereby reducing airway inflammation and hyperresponsiveness. Levosalbutamol is the active (R)-enantiomer of salbutamol that selectively stimulates beta-2 adrenergic receptors on airway smooth muscle, leading to bronchodilation. Budemol is administered via inhalation using a nebulizer and is indicated for the regular treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) to relieve bronchospasm and reduce airway inflammation.
