Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This drug is a combination therapy of three agents—**budigalimab** (a humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody targeting programmed cell death protein 1 [PD-1]), **pemetrexed** (a multi-targeted antifolate chemotherapy), and **carboplatin** (a platinum-based DNA crosslinking chemotherapy). Budigalimab blocks PD-1 signaling, thereby enhancing T-cell mediated immune responses against cancer cells. Pemetrexed inhibits multiple folate-dependent enzymes essential for DNA synthesis and cell replication. Carboplatin forms DNA crosslinks, impairing DNA replication and transcription, leading to apoptosis. The combination is currently being investigated for first-line treatment of **metastatic non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)**, especially in clinical trials assessing immuno-chemotherapy regimens[1][2][3][5].
