Overview

NG1806 is a long-acting, dual-mechanism, non-opioid analgesic sustained-release gel formulation combining bupivacaine, an amide-type local anesthetic, and celecoxib, a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor. It is designed for postoperative and perioperative pain management, providing sustained pain relief for over 72 hours post-surgery. By simultaneously blocking voltage-gated sodium channels (via bupivacaine) to inhibit nerve impulse conduction and inhibiting COX-2 (via celecoxib) to reduce prostaglandin-mediated inflammatory pain, NG1806 offers synergistic anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects with opioid-sparing benefits.
