Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cizdol-N Lite is a lower-strength sublingual tablet formulation of the combination drug buprenorphine and naloxone, developed by Maan Pharmaceuticals. It is indicated for the treatment of opioid dependence and as part of a comprehensive de-addiction program. Buprenorphine acts as a partial agonist at the mu-opioid receptor, providing enough opioid effect to suppress withdrawal and cravings without producing the full euphoria of illicit opioids. Naloxone, a mu-opioid receptor antagonist, is included to prevent misuse; it has poor sublingual bioavailability but precipitates withdrawal if the tablet is dissolved and injected. The "Lite" version provides a lower dosage option for clinical management and titration.
