Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bushen Huoxue (also known as Bushen Huoxue Fang or Decoction) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed and studied by the Yueyang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine and the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The formula is designed based on the TCM therapeutic principles of "Bushen" (tonifying the kidney) and "Huoxue" (invigorating blood circulation), which are traditionally applied to treat reproductive and endocrine disorders. Its primary clinical focus is the treatment of premature ovarian failure (POF) and diminished ovarian reserve. Research suggests that the formula may help regulate serum levels of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), and estradiol (E2), while potentially improving ovarian blood flow and reducing apoptosis in granulosa cells. It is typically administered as an oral decoction or in granule form.
