Overview

**BX002-A** is an orally administered, investigational bacteriophage-cocktail therapy developed by BiomX to selectively reduce gastrointestinal strains of *Klebsiella pneumoniae* associated with inflammatory bowel disease and primary sclerosing cholangitis. The product consists of multiple bacteriophages intended to infect and lyse susceptible *K. pneumoniae* strains while preserving mammalian cells and much of the non-target gut microbiota. In the completed randomized, single-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 1 study BMX-02-001 in healthy adults, oral BX002-A was evaluated for safety, tolerability, and fecal pharmacokinetics; BiomX subsequently advanced the broader-host-range successor candidate BX003 rather than BX002-A for IBD and PSC development.
