Overview
BXQ-350 + FOLFOX + bevacizumab is a combination therapy being developed by Bexion Pharmaceuticals for the first-line treatment of newly diagnosed metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). BXQ-350 is a first-in-class nanovesicle formulation of Saposin C (SapC) and dioleoylphosphatidylserine (DOPS) that selectively targets phosphatidylserine (PS) exposed on the surface of cancer cells and tumor-associated vascular endothelium. Upon binding, it induces lysosomal-mediated cell death. This regimen combines the novel mechanism of BXQ-350 with the standard-of-care FOLFOX chemotherapy (oxaliplatin, leucovorin, and 5-fluorouracil) and the anti-angiogenic monoclonal antibody bevacizumab (Avastin), which targets vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A). The combination is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1 clinical trial to assess safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy.
