Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BXT-251 + OxySense is a preclinical-stage combination product developed by BioXyTran for organ preservation and transplantation. BXT-251 is an acellular oxygen carrier (AOC) consisting of a hemoglobin-based glycoprotein co-polymer designed to deliver oxygen to tissues and prolong the viability of donor organs during extracorporeal circulation. It is paired with OxySense, a real-time monitoring technology utilizing the MDX Viewer device to measure NADH levels, which serves as a marker for cellular oxygen consumption and energy metabolism. This combination aims to extend organ preservation times from hours to days and improve transplantation outcomes by ensuring adequate tissue oxygenation and monitoring metabolic status.
