Drug intelligence / Profile preview
c-xyloside + blueberry extract is a topical dermatological combination formulation designed to address the signs of intrinsic aging and glycation-induced skin damage. C-xyloside (a C-glycoside derivative also known as Proxylane) acts as a glycosaminoglycan (GAG) synthesis stimulator, promoting the production of essential components of the extracellular matrix to improve skin density and firmness. Blueberry extract serves as an antioxidant and an inhibitor of advanced glycation end-products (AGEs), which are harmful compounds formed by the non-enzymatic reaction between sugars and skin proteins like collagen. By preventing the cross-linking of these proteins, the formulation helps maintain skin elasticity and reduces the appearance of wrinkles and creping. It has been clinically evaluated for its efficacy in improving the skin quality of type II diabetic patients, who often exhibit accelerated skin aging due to chronic hyperglycemia.
