Cabazitaxel + cisplatin is a combination of two chemotherapeutic agents used in the treatment of advanced or metastatic solid tumors, particularly when standard therapies have failed. Cabazitaxel is a second-generation semisynthetic taxane that acts as a microtubule inhibitor by binding to beta-tubulin and stabilizing microtubules, thereby preventing cell division and inducing tumor cell death[1][2]. Cisplatin is a platinum-based alkylating agent that forms DNA crosslinks, leading to apoptosis and inhibition of cancer cell proliferation[8]. The combination has shown therapeutic synergism in preclinical models and has been evaluated in phase I clinical trials for patients with metastatic or unresectable solid tumors[3][4]. Both drugs are primarily administered intravenously.
