Overview

The CGC201 regimen refers to a combination chemotherapy protocol consisting of cabazitaxel, gemcitabine, and cisplatin. This multi-agent intravesical therapy is being investigated for the treatment of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) that is unresponsive to Bacille Calmette-Guerin (BCG). The mechanism of action involves the combined cytotoxic effects of three agents: - Cabazitaxel is a taxane that inhibits microtubule depolymerization. - Gemcitabine is a nucleoside analog that inhibits DNA synthesis. - Cisplatin is an alkylating agent causing DNA crosslinking and apoptosis. This regimen aims to halt tumor growth and induce cancer cell death in patients who are not candidates for or refuse radical cystectomy. The protocol has demonstrated safety in early-phase studies and is currently under investigation in Phase 2 clinical trials[2].
