Overview

Cabozantinib + erlotinib is a combination therapy being investigated for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This combination targets multiple pathways involved in NSCLC tumorigenesis and resistance mechanisms. Erlotinib is an EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor, while cabozantinib is a multi-targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor that primarily targets MET and VEGFR2, with additional activity against RET, AXL, KIT, and TIE-2. The combination has shown promising results in clinical trials, particularly for patients with EGFR-mutant NSCLC who have progressed on prior EGFR TKI therapy, as well as in EGFR wild-type NSCLC patients.
