Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a topical combination therapy consisting of cade oil, clobetasol propionate, and eosin. It has been studied for the treatment of psoriasis, particularly plaque-type psoriasis. Clobetasol propionate is a super-potent topical corticosteroid that exerts anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive, and antimitotic effects by binding to the glucocorticoid receptor and modulating gene expression to reduce inflammation and immune activity. Cade oil (a classic tar) is traditionally used in dermatology for its antipruritic and keratoplastic properties. Eosin is an antiseptic dye with mild anti-inflammatory effects often used in skin care preparations. The combination has shown efficacy in reducing symptoms of plaque psoriasis when applied topically on alternate days[1][3].
