Cadonilimab + cisplatin is a combination therapy consisting of cadonilimab, a first-in-class bispecific antibody targeting programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (CTLA-4), and cisplatin, a platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent. Developed by Akeso Biopharma, cadonilimab is designed to simultaneously block two key immune checkpoint pathways, potentially enhancing anti-tumor immune responses compared to monotherapy. Cisplatin acts by forming DNA cross-links, inducing apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells. This combination is being investigated as a neoadjuvant treatment for patients with resectable locally advanced cervical cancer in a Phase 2 trial sponsored by The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, aiming to improve surgical outcomes and pathological complete response rates.
