Overview
Cadonilimab + recombinant human interferon α1b is a combination therapy being investigated for the treatment of advanced melanoma. Cadonilimab is a first-in-class PD-1/CTLA-4 bispecific antibody that simultaneously blocks both the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (CTLA-4) pathways, enhancing anti-tumor immune responses. Recombinant human interferon α1b (IFN-α1b) is a cytokine that exhibits antiviral, antiproliferative, and immunomodulatory activities. The combination aims to leverage the synergistic effects of dual checkpoint inhibition and cytokine-mediated immune activation to improve outcomes in patients with Stage III/IV melanoma, particularly in the neoadjuvant setting.
