Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a topical combination drug containing calcipotriene (also known as calcipotriol), clobetasol propionate, and eosin. Calcipotriene is a synthetic vitamin D3 analog that regulates skin cell production and differentiation, primarily used to treat psoriasis. Clobetasol propionate is a superpotent corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, itching, and redness by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators. Eosin is an organic dye with mild antiseptic properties sometimes used in dermatology for its drying effect on exudative lesions; however, it is not commonly included in standard pharmaceutical combinations for psoriasis or other skin conditions. The combination of calcipotriene and clobetasol propionate has demonstrated superior efficacy over monotherapy in the treatment of plaque psoriasis by combining anti-proliferative effects with potent anti-inflammatory action[1][4][7]. The addition of eosin may be intended for adjunctive antiseptic or drying purposes but lacks robust clinical evidence or regulatory approval as part of this specific triple combination.
