Calcitonin + calcium gluconate is a combination of two agents used primarily in diagnostic testing and acute management of certain metabolic conditions. Calcitonin is a peptide hormone that lowers blood calcium levels by inhibiting osteoclast-mediated bone resorption and increasing renal excretion of calcium.
