Overview
Neohemodez is an approved, intravenously administered plasma-substituting and detoxifying infusion solution. It is formulated with low-molecular-weight povidone (polyvinylpyrrolidone, molecular weight 8,000 ± 2,000) combined with essential electrolytes (sodium chloride, potassium chloride, calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, and sodium bicarbonate). The therapeutic effect of Neohemodez is primarily driven by the ability of low-molecular-weight povidone to bind circulating endogenous and exogenous toxins in the bloodstream, facilitating their rapid renal clearance. Additionally, the solution helps restore water-electrolyte balance, improves capillary microcirculation, reduces erythrocyte stasis, and increases glomerular filtration and diuresis. It is indicated for the treatment of various toxic states, including food poisoning, acute gastrointestinal infections (such as shigellosis and salmonellosis), burn disease, peritonitis, and post-operative or post-traumatic shock.
