calcium hydroxide + diclofenac sodium

This is an investigational combination of intracanal medicaments consisting of calcium hydroxide and diclofenac sodium, developed by researchers at Hatay Mustafa Kemal University. It is designed for use during endodontic treatment to manage post-operative pain in patients with symptomatic apical periodontitis. Calcium hydroxide provides antimicrobial properties and a high pH environment, while diclofenac sodium, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), acts locally to reduce inflammation and pain by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes. The combination is applied as a paste directly into the root canal system following cleaning and shaping procedures.
