Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Calybest is an oral fixed-dose combination supplement developed by Puneet Laboratories, containing 250 mg of calcium lysinate and 500 IU of vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). Calcium lysinate is a chelated form of calcium where the mineral is bound to the amino acid L-lysine, a formulation intended to improve gastrointestinal absorption and reduce common side effects associated with inorganic calcium salts. Vitamin D3 acts as a crucial regulator of calcium and phosphate homeostasis by binding to the vitamin D receptor (VDR), thereby enhancing intestinal calcium absorption and promoting bone mineralization. This combination is primarily indicated for the prevention and treatment of bone-related conditions such as osteopenia, osteoporosis, and postmenopausal osteoporosis, as well as for meeting increased nutritional demands during pregnancy and lactation and supporting recovery from bone fractures.
