Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CAM2020 M2SR H3N2 influenza vaccine + Fluzone HD inactivated influenza vaccine is an investigational combination vaccine regimen being developed by FluGen in collaboration with Sanofi. The regimen consists of FluGen's M2-deficient single-replication (M2SR) intranasal vaccine (specifically the CAM2020 strain derived from A/Cambodia/e0826360/2020) administered alongside Sanofi's Fluzone High-Dose (HD) Quadrivalent, an intramuscular inactivated influenza vaccine. The M2SR component is a live virus vaccine engineered to lack the M2 protein, which allows it to infect host cells and express a broad range of influenza antigens without producing new infectious viral particles. This stimulates both mucosal secretory IgA and cell-mediated immunity. Fluzone HD provides a high-dose systemic antibody response. The combination is designed to enhance protection against influenza in older adults (aged 65-85) by providing both local mucosal and systemic immune responses.
