This combination therapy regimen, evaluated by Beijing Chest Hospital, consists of camrelizumab, apatinib, and chemotherapy (carboplatin with either pemetrexed or paclitaxel) for the first-line treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Camrelizumab is a humanized high-affinity IgG4-kappa monoclonal antibody targeting the programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1), which restores the immune system's ability to detect and destroy tumor cells. Apatinib is an oral small-molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor that selectively targets vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR-2), thereby inhibiting tumor angiogenesis. The addition of platinum-based chemotherapy provides cytotoxic effects, creating a synergistic therapeutic approach that combines immune checkpoint inhibition, anti-angiogenic therapy, and traditional chemotherapy to improve clinical outcomes in patients with advanced NSCLC.
