Camrelizumab + apatinib + paclitaxel is a combination chemo-immunotherapy regimen being investigated for the treatment of advanced malignancies, particularly cervical cancer. This regimen combines camrelizumab, a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor, with apatinib, a small-molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor selective for vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR-2), and paclitaxel, a cytotoxic taxane that stabilizes microtubules to inhibit mitosis. The rationale for this combination lies in the synergy between PD-1 blockade, which restores anti-tumor T-cell activity, and VEGFR-2 inhibition, which reduces tumor angiogenesis and promotes an immunostimulatory tumor microenvironment. Paclitaxel further contributes by direct tumor cell killing and potentially increasing the release of tumor antigens. Clinical studies, notably those led by investigators at Wuhan Union Hospital and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, have focused on evaluating this triplet in patients with recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer.
