Overview

Camrelizumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor, acting as an immune checkpoint inhibitor. By blocking the interaction between PD-1 on T cells and its ligand PD-L1 on tumor cells, camrelizumab prevents immune evasion by cancer cells and enhances antitumor immune responses[1][4][6][8]. When combined with chemotherapy, this regimen has demonstrated improved efficacy compared to chemotherapy alone in several solid tumors, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma[2][5]. Camrelizumab was developed in China and has been studied in multiple advanced cancers. The combination with chemotherapy is used as a first-line or neoadjuvant treatment for certain locally advanced or metastatic cancers.
