This therapeutic regimen involves the combination of an immune checkpoint inhibitor—either the PD-1 inhibitor camrelizumab or the PD-L1 inhibitor envafolimab—with recombinant human endostatin (Endostar). Camrelizumab is a humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody that blocks the interaction between PD-1 and its ligands, while envafolimab is a unique subcutaneous single-domain antibody (nanobody) targeting PD-L1. Recombinant human endostatin is an anti-angiogenic agent that inhibits vascular endothelial growth and tumor angiogenesis by interfering with endothelial cell migration and survival. This combination is being investigated by Hebei Medical University for the treatment of leptomeningeal metastases in patients with lung cancer, aiming to improve survival outcomes by leveraging the synergistic effects of immune checkpoint blockade and anti-angiogenesis in the central nervous system microenvironment.
