Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Camrelizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor, acting as an immune checkpoint inhibitor. By blocking PD-1 on T cells, B cells, and natural killer cells, it prevents interaction with its ligand PD-L1 expressed on tumor cells. This blockade reinvigorates T-cell activity and enhances the immune system's ability to mount an anti-tumor response. Camrelizumab has demonstrated antitumor activity in several cancers and is approved in China for hepatocellular carcinoma, Hodgkin’s lymphoma, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and non-small cell lung cancer[2][3][5]. It is developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals and licensed globally (except China/South Korea) to Elevar Therapeutics for use in combination therapies such as with rivoceranib for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma[3][6]. "TP" typically refers to a chemotherapy regimen of paclitaxel plus cisplatin; thus "camrelizumab + TP" denotes a combination therapy used in clinical trials for various solid tumors.
