Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SPC5003 is a fixed-dose triple combination therapy developed by Shin Poong Pharmaceutical for the treatment of patients with essential hypertension and comorbid dyslipidemia. The product combines three well-established pharmacological agents: candesartan cilexetil, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB); amlodipine besylate, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker (CCB); and atorvastatin calcium, an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin). By integrating two antihypertensive mechanisms with a lipid-lowering agent into a single daily tablet, SPC5003 aims to simplify complex treatment regimens, enhance patient adherence, and provide comprehensive cardiovascular risk management. The drug is currently in Phase 3 clinical development, with studies evaluating its efficacy and safety compared to dual-combination and monotherapy components.
