Overview

**Canertinib + paclitaxel + carboplatin** is an investigational combination chemotherapy regimen for cancer treatment. Canertinib is an experimental, irreversible pan-ErbB tyrosine kinase inhibitor that targets EGFR/HER2 family receptors, aiming to inhibit tumor growth by blocking critical cell signaling pathways involved in proliferation and survival. Paclitaxel is a small molecule antineoplastic that stabilizes microtubules, preventing cell division and inducing apoptosis. Carboplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent that causes DNA crosslinking and apoptosis by interfering with DNA replication. This combination—using different mechanisms—maximizes cancer cell cytotoxicity by targeting distinct aspects of tumor biology. While paclitaxel plus carboplatin is an established regimen for ovarian, lung, cervical, and endometrial cancers, canertinib has been largely evaluated in early-phase clinical trials as a targeted therapy and is not approved for any indication. At present, there is no evidence that the triple combination “canertinib + paclitaxel + carboplatin” is used as standard of care or approved; it may have been considered in research contexts or as part of experimental combination strategies in oncology.
