Overview

Cannabidiol (Specific Conjugate Particles), or SCP-CBD, is a formulation of cannabidiol (CBD) utilizing Specific Conjugate Particles (SCP) technology. Cannabidiol is a non-psychoactive phytocannabinoid derived from Cannabis sativa, known for its complex and multi-targeted mechanism of action. It indirectly modulates the endocannabinoid system by inhibiting the breakdown of anandamide, thereby increasing its levels. CBD also interacts with various non-cannabinoid receptors, including 5-HT1A (serotonin) receptors, TRPV1/2 (transient receptor potential vanilloid) channels, GPR55, and PPAR-γ (peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma). Additionally, it acts as an allosteric modulator of GABAA receptors, activates neuronal Kv7 potassium channels, and influences several cytochrome P450 enzymes. This broad pharmacological profile contributes to its potential therapeutic effects, which include anti-inflammatory, anxiolytic, neuroprotective, and anticonvulsant properties. The SCP technology aims to enhance the delivery and efficacy of cannabis extracts, including CBD, for various applications.
