Cannabidiol + β-caryophyllene is a combination of two naturally occurring compounds found in the cannabis plant—cannabidiol (CBD), a non-psychoactive cannabinoid, and β-caryophyllene (BCP), a dietary sesquiterpene that acts as a selective agonist at the cannabinoid receptor type 2 (CB2). This combination has been shown in preclinical studies to produce synergistic analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects greater than either compound alone. The mechanism involves modulation of inflammatory pathways and interaction with both CB1 and CB2 receptors. Notably, this synergy occurs without the psychoactive side effects typically associated with cannabinoid receptor type 1 activation.
