Overview

Lupvindol Biosciences is developing a fixed-dose combination (FDC) therapy that combines cannabidiol (CBD) with a low-dose corticosteroid for the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. This small molecule combination leverages CBD's activity on cannabinoid receptors (CB1 and CB2) alongside the corticosteroid's action on the glucocorticoid receptor to produce super-additive anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects. The primary goal of this approach is to serve as a steroid-sparing agent, allowing for reduced corticosteroid dosages and thereby minimizing the adverse effects associated with long-term or high-dose steroid use. While the company is pursuing a veterinary-first strategy (e.g., for canine inflammatory bowel disease), it is also advancing the program toward human Phase III clinical development for various inflammatory disorders.
