Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A standardized plant-derived cannabis extract developed by Breath of Life International Pharma Ltd (BOL Pharma). The product contains varying ratios of cannabidiol (CBD) and delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), most notably a 20:1 CBD:THC ratio investigated for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It is formulated for sublingual administration as either medicated drops or tablets. THC acts primarily as a partial agonist at the CB1 and CB2 receptors of the endocannabinoid system, modulating neurotransmitter release and pain signaling. CBD acts through multiple non-cannabinoid receptor pathways, including 5-HT1A receptor agonism and inhibition of fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH), providing anxiolytic, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective effects. The drug is being evaluated for its safety, pharmacokinetics, and efficacy in treating neurodevelopmental symptoms and chronic pain conditions.
