Overview

This is an investigational oral cannabinoid oil preparation containing a 50:2 mg ratio of cannabidiol (CBD) to tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) per milliliter, formulated in medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil. Developed by McMaster University in collaboration with MediPharm Labs, it is being evaluated for the treatment of various DSM-5 anxiety disorders, including Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD), Panic Disorder (PD), and Agoraphobia. The drug acts on the endocannabinoid system, primarily targeting cannabinoid receptors (CB1 and CB2). It is currently being studied in a Phase 3 randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled pilot trial (NCT04569760) to assess its efficacy in reducing anxiety symptoms and its impact on inflammatory markers.
