Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CAP256V2LS + VRC07-523LS is an investigational combination of two long-acting, broadly neutralizing monoclonal antibodies (bNAbs) being developed for the prevention of HIV-1 infection. CAP256V2LS is an engineered, non-clipped variant of CAP256-VRC26.25 (a bNAb targeting the V1/V2 apex of the HIV-1 envelope glycoprotein) modified with an LS mutation in the Fc region to extend its half-life. VRC07-523LS is an engineered variant of VRC07 that targets the CD4 binding site of the HIV-1 envelope glycoprotein, also containing the LS mutation for extended half-life. The combination is designed to provide high potency and broad neutralization coverage against diverse HIV-1 strains. It has been evaluated in the Phase II CAPRISA 012C trial in young HIV-negative women in South Africa and Zambia, administered subcutaneously.
