Capecitabine + cyclophosphamide + vinorelbine is a combination chemotherapy regimen used primarily in the treatment of metastatic breast cancer, particularly in hormone receptor-positive cases. Capecitabine is an oral prodrug that is converted to 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and inhibits thymidylate synthase, interfering with DNA synthesis. Cyclophosphamide is an alkylating agent that crosslinks DNA strands, leading to cell death. Vinorelbine is a semi-synthetic vinca alkaloid that inhibits microtubule assembly, disrupting mitosis. This combination has demonstrated significant activity and good tolerability in clinical studies for advanced or metastatic breast cancer[2][1]. The regimen may be administered metronomically (continuous low-dose), which can improve tolerability while maintaining efficacy[2].
