It reduces the risk of infection due to chemotherapy-induced neutropenia by binding to the G-CSF receptor on hematopoietic cells[1][2][3]. This combination leverages multiple mechanisms for antitumor activity while using pegfilgrastim for supportive care to mitigate chemotherapy-induced neutropenia.
