This is a combination of three anticancer drugs: capecitabine (an oral fluoropyrimidine), eribulin (a non-taxane microtubule inhibitor), and vinorelbine (a vinca alkaloid). Capecitabine is an oral fluoropyrimidine prodrug of 5-FU. Eribulin is a novel non-taxane microtubule inhibitor that binds to the growing plus ends of microtubules, inhibiting cell division. Vinorelbine is a semisynthetic vinca alkaloid derived from vinblastine that inhibits cell growth by binding to tubulin of mitotic microtubules, preventing cell division. While eribulin + capecitabine combination has been studied in breast cancer patients showing manageable toxicity profiles and clinical benefit, and vinorelbine is used in breast cancer treatment, the specific three-drug combination has limited documented clinical use.
