Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of the oral fluoropyrimidine capecitabine and the synthetic alkaloid lurbinectedin. Lurbinectedin works by binding to DNA, generating double-strand breaks, and disrupting DNA-dependent transcription by inhibiting RNA polymerase II activity. Capecitabine is converted to 5-fluorouracil in tumor tissues. Preclinical studies showed synergistic effects between these agents against solid tumors.
