Capecitabine + oxaliplatin + cetuximab is a combination chemotherapy regimen used primarily for the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer, particularly in patients with wild-type KRAS tumors. Capecitabine is an oral prodrug of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) that inhibits DNA synthesis in rapidly dividing cells. Oxaliplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent that causes DNA crosslinking and apoptosis. Cetuximab is a monoclonal antibody targeting the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), blocking ligand binding and downstream signaling pathways involved in cell proliferation and survival. This combination may be used as first or second line therapy, especially when surgery to remove metastases may become possible after tumor shrinkage[1][2][6].
