Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of capecitabine, an oral fluoropyrimidine chemotherapy agent, and trastuzumab, a monoclonal antibody that targets HER2 receptors. This combination is used primarily for the treatment of HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer. Capecitabine is converted to 5-fluorouracil in tumor cells, interfering with DNA synthesis, while trastuzumab binds to the HER2 receptor on cancer cells, inhibiting cell growth and proliferation.
