Overview

CAR-CD19 T cell (Kang YU) is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting the CD19 antigen. Developed by investigator Kang Yu, typically associated with the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University, this therapy involves the ex vivo genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR comprising an anti-CD19 single-chain variable fragment (scFv) linked to intracellular signaling domains (such as 4-1BB and CD3-zeta). The treatment is designed to induce a targeted immune response against CD19-expressing malignant B cells. It is currently being investigated in a Phase 1 pilot study (NCT04106076) for B-cell lymphoblastic leukemia and B-cell lymphoma. The broader clinical program also evaluates separate CAR-T products targeting BCMA, GPC3, and Claudin 18.2 for indications including multiple myeloma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and gastrointestinal adenocarcinomas.
