Overview

CAR-HSC (B7-H3) is a preclinical-stage cell therapy being developed by Immugenia for the treatment of rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS). The therapy utilizes a novel approach by genetically engineering hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting B7-H3 (CD276), a protein frequently overexpressed in pediatric solid tumors. Using Immugenia's proprietary SPICA (Specific Promoters for Immune Cell Activity) technology, the engineered HSCs are designed to selectively differentiate into CAR-expressing T cells and NK cells within the patient. This platform aims to provide a continuous, lifelong supply of anti-tumor effector cells and potentially reduce the risk of cytokine release syndrome compared to traditional CAR-T therapies by allowing for a more natural and sustained immune response.
