CAR-T (Institute of Hematology & Blood Diseases Hospital) is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy developed by the Institute of Hematology & Blood Diseases Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, for the treatment of mantle cell lymphoma (MCL). The therapy involves the ex vivo genetic modification of a patient's T cells to express a chimeric antigen receptor, typically targeting the CD19 antigen expressed on the surface of B-cell malignancies. Once re-infused into the patient, these engineered T cells recognize and induce apoptosis in malignant B cells. It is currently being investigated in Phase 2 clinical trials in China, often as a consolidation therapy following induction regimens involving BTK inhibitors (like zanubrutinib) and immunomodulatory drugs (like lenalidomide) for patients with high-risk or newly diagnosed MCL.
