Overview

This investigational autologous CAR-T cell therapy is being developed by Shanghai GeneChem Co., Ltd. for the treatment of advanced solid tumors, specifically hepatocellular carcinoma, pancreatic cancer, and colorectal cancer. The therapy involves T-cells genetically engineered using lentiviral vectors to express chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) targeting one of three tumor-associated antigens: Glypican-3 (GPC3), Mesothelin (MSLN), or Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA). In clinical studies, such as the Phase 1/2 trial NCT02959151, these CAR-T cells are administered intra-tumorally, often in combination with interventional therapies like transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) or radiofrequency ablation (RFA). This approach aims to enhance local immune infiltration and anti-tumor efficacy in patients with primary liver malignancies or metastatic disease in the liver.
