Overview

This investigational CAR-T cell therapy is being developed by the 920th Hospital of Joint Logistics Support Force of the People's Liberation Army of China for the treatment of chronic or refractory primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). The therapy utilizes autologous T cells that have been genetically engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) designed to target and eliminate the immune cell populations responsible for the destruction of platelets. The treatment protocol involves a single intravenous infusion of the engineered cells following a lymphodepletion conditioning regimen consisting of fludarabine and cyclophosphamide. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1/2 clinical trial to assess its safety and efficacy in patients who have failed standard therapeutic options for ITP.
