Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination therapy consisting of platinum-based chemotherapy (carboplatin or cisplatin), pemetrexed (an antifolate agent), and ramucirumab (a VEGFR-2 inhibitor). It has been studied in clinical trials for the treatment of advanced/metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), particularly non-squamous NSCLC. The combination works through multiple mechanisms: platinum agents disrupt DNA replication, pemetrexed inhibits folate-dependent enzymes, and ramucirumab blocks angiogenesis by targeting VEGFR-2.
