Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination therapy consisting of three chemotherapy agents (carboplatin, cisplatin, and pemetrexed) plus a targeted anti-angiogenic agent (rh-endostatin/Endostar). The combination has been studied primarily for advanced non-small cell lung cancer. Pemetrexed is an antifolate agent that disrupts folate-dependent metabolic processes essential for cell replication. Carboplatin and cisplatin are platinum-based chemotherapy drugs that work by damaging DNA and preventing cancer cells from dividing. Rh-endostatin (recombinant human endostatin, also known as Endostar) is an anti-angiogenic agent that targets new capillary endothelial cells around tumors, inhibiting tumor blood vessel formation.
