This is a combination regimen consisting of three drugs: - **Carboplatin** is a platinum-based chemotherapy agent that causes DNA crosslinking and damage, leading to apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells. - **Dostarlimab** is a monoclonal antibody that acts as an immune checkpoint inhibitor by targeting the programmed death receptor-1 (PD-1), thereby enhancing T-cell mediated anti-tumor responses. - **Paclitaxel** is a taxane-class chemotherapeutic agent that stabilizes microtubules, inhibiting cell division and promoting apoptosis. The combination of carboplatin and paclitaxel has been widely used for the treatment of various solid tumors, including ovarian, lung, breast, endometrial, cervical cancers, and others. Dostarlimab adds an immunotherapy component to this regimen. The triple combination aims to leverage both cytotoxic effects from chemotherapy (carboplatin and paclitaxel) and immune-mediated anti-tumor activity from dostarlimab. This approach may be under investigation or in use for gynecologic malignancies such as endometrial cancer.
