Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a four-drug combination regimen consisting of carboplatin, nab-paclitaxel (nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel), pemetrexed, and sintilimab. - **Carboplatin** is a platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent that induces DNA crosslinking and apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells. - **Nab-paclitaxel** is an albumin-bound formulation of paclitaxel, a microtubule inhibitor that disrupts mitosis by stabilizing microtubules. - **Pemetrexed** is a folate antimetabolite that inhibits multiple enzymes involved in purine and pyrimidine synthesis, thereby blocking DNA replication and cell division[7][10]. - **Sintilimab** is a monoclonal antibody targeting the programmed death 1 (PD-1) receptor on T cells; it acts as an immune checkpoint inhibitor to enhance anti-tumor immune responses. This combination brings together cytotoxic chemotherapy with immunotherapy for synergistic anti-cancer effects. It has been investigated primarily for advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), especially non-squamous subtypes.
