This is a combination regimen consisting of four agents: - **Carboplatin** (a platinum-based chemotherapy agent that induces DNA crosslinking and apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells) - **Nivolumab** (a monoclonal antibody immune checkpoint inhibitor targeting programmed death receptor-1 [PD-1], enhancing T-cell mediated antitumor response) - **Paclitaxel** (a microtubule-stabilizing chemotherapeutic agent that inhibits cell division) - **Veliparib** (an oral small molecule inhibitor of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase [PARP] 1/2, impairing DNA repair in cancer cells) This quadruple combination has been investigated primarily for advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), aiming to combine the cytotoxic effects of chemotherapy with immunotherapy and targeted inhibition of DNA repair. Early-phase clinical trials have shown this regimen to be tolerable, with no significant drug-drug interactions observed. The most common adverse events include fatigue, nausea, anemia, and neutropenia. Preliminary data suggest promising antitumor activity[1][5][7].
